Polestar Comprehensive Pilates Instructor (450+ Hours of Training)

Sharon Young

Inspired by Joseph Pilates’ vision of whole-body health, I embrace the use of breath, alignment, and control as powerful tools to connect mind, body, and spirit, helping clients develop strength that supports them both in and out of the studio.

Movement has always been part of my life. My mother was a professional dancer and has been a Pilates instructor since the ’90s, and growing up in a movement-centered family shaped my early understanding of how the body works. I explored my own path, developing a love for weight lifting, yoga, and Brazilian jiu-jitsu.

Pilates returned to my life in 2023 when I was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s Disease. The method helped relieve my muscle and joint pain, inflammation, and back pain, while also calming and supporting my nervous system - helping me reconnect to my body in a deeply restorative way. This personal transformation, combined with my lifelong desire to help others, made it clear that I wanted to guide people through the same sense of relief, healing, and empowerment.

I also hold a Plant-Based Medicine Certification from Cornell University, enriching my holistic, whole-person approach to wellness. I believe Pilates is truly movement medicine and I hope to help clients feel supported, strong, and empowered through movement.
